Statement
As a first-generation Cuban-American, I grew up in a family that put education above everything else. We understood that education was the surest path to a life of your own choosing, and that belief has shaped everything I have done since. When I moved my young family to Plainfield in 2017, I found a community full of hardworking people with the same values — families who want more for their children and are willing to fight for it. The Queen City Promise is doing something real: removing the financial barriers that stand between our graduates and their futures. As the mother of three daughters, I know how much it matters that young people see a path forward. I am proud to be part of making that path a little clearer.
